On January 23, 2026, five greats will be inducted into the Toledo Hockey Hall of Fame. Mike Greeder was with the Goaldiggers in 1980-82 & 1983-85. Mike served as Tam-O Rink Manager after his retirement from pro hockey until his passing in 2005. We're proud to honor his legacy.
This is an 8-week instructional program for persons ages 18 & older that want to learn the basics of skating and hockey. It is recommended that participants have been on ice skates before classes begin. All ice times are at Ottawa Park Outdoor Rink.

Sylvania Tam-O-Shanter Learn to Skate programs are committed to providing skaters, ages 3 through adult with the basic ice skating skills that are necessary to skate safely and competently, whether for figure skating, ice hockey or recreation.
Whether you are a seasoned skater or just getting started... we want you to shine on the ice. Available to all Tam-O Learn 2 Skate students (Basic Skills, Snowplow Sam, Pre-Hockey, & Adult) and USFSA skating club members. Optional practice sessions are available prior to show.

Tam-O offers Open (Public) Skating virtually every day of the year. Check out our days and times and pick the one that fits your schedule. Don’t have skates? No problem. We have an inventory of over 200 rental skates sizes ranging from youth 7 through adult 14 sizes.
Freestyle sessions are practice sessions reserved for figure skaters working on jumps, spins, and programs. Freestyle is provided for private lessons and individual practice time. As there will be skaters executing jumps and programs, all participants must be proficient skaters.
Drop In is available daily for players interested in a non-structured shinny hockey experience. Full equipment is required and you must be over 16 years of age. The first two goaltenders signing up are free. (High school age drop-in sessions are available certain parts of the season).
